Rockin’ It! Media
More than swim and a gym.
I have a special place in my heart for the YMCA.
I’ve worked with the New York City and Boston association for a bit over 15 years now. And I’m here to testify that the Y is more than just a swim and a gym! The Y provides life changing services to the communities they serve.
Here is a sample of some of the work I’ve created throughout the years…
MEET YOUR PERSONAL TRAINER
Plus as an added benefit the branch walls look professional when the trainer’s pictures are prominently displayed in nice frames!
There are a several reasons why you should consider shooting professional headshots. Here are just a few…
- Displays in waiting rooms,
- Promotional materials,
- Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn),
- Email signatures,
- YMCA directories,
- Press and media releases,
- Speaking engagements.
Sometimes people need to see what your branch looks like before they visit or pick up the phone. The YMCA of Greater Boston needed to add photos of each branch to their websites so they gave me a call.
It was a tight deadline. I had to shoot 13 branches in 5 days. When it came to shooting pictures with people in it, I had to shoot several images for that 1 perfect shot. Fun fact: by the time I put all the photos in my compter to edit, there were over 3,000 pictures!
To see the pictures I’ve shot, go here: http://ymcaboston.org/branches and click on any branch.
I was commisioned to shoot the facades of the 13 YMCA of Greater Boston branches. If you’re wondering why all of the iamges were shot at night – that’s because images are way more dramatic at night!
It was time consuming to say the least as the branches aren’t all close to each other. Some of the branches required some heavy duty Photoshop work and it took me 4-5 hours to make them perfect (as can be).
Once I wrapped everything up we printed them on metal aluminum prints and decorated the main branch with the images.
Throughout the year every branch as special events for the community and field trips for the kids. It’s important to document these events as social media plays an important role in letting the community know what everyone is up to.
As an added benefit – having professional images taken will also help with marketing materials as well!
GALAS AND FUNDRAISERS
Shooting galas and fundraisers is much like shooting weddings. There are situations where I only get one shot to get the picture.
Much like taking pictures of special events, having professional photos of galas and fundraisers is important for press and future marketing purposes.
Aside from creating awesome keepsakes for the children, having a picture day will also help your fundraising efforts! Be sure to reach out if you’d like to have a picture day for your sports or martial arts programs.
What’s better than having photos of your branch and programs? VIDEO!
If pictures speak a thousand words – how many words would video conjure up?
Looking to inspire people to donate a more money during your gala or fundraiser?
Consider having us shoot a testimonial video.
The great thing about shooting testimonial videos is you can repurpose them for years to come on social media and email lists.
To make the process of training new non-exempt staff more efficient, we filmed a New Hire Orientation Video.
Instead of having human resource staff conduct a monthly in person training or sending people to the city – new employees can now watch a training video in the comfort of their new branch.
Who says video has to be boring?
